Vergil | Devil May Cry | Closed Prompts

i. // Father vs. Son --: Closed to Nero

[ Vergil probably looks out of place in an outfit like this. Unlike Nero, he's dressed in Team Seelie's colors, and it's at least enough of a distraction to take away from the fact that he doesn't look even one bit bothered that he's been thrown into this ring against Nero, of all people.

No, he's actually grinning, crookedly--the katana he's holding is no Yamato, but it'll do. ]

Well, well. This is a rematch I feel that's been sorely in need. [ he hasn't been able to go all out against Nero in the city, but here.... ] I'm sure you won't feel too off your game if you're beaten in front of a crowd by your 'Old Man.'

Come, Nero. Show me your real power.

ii. // Where'd you Learn to Count --: Closed to Dante

[ And then it's been hours since his last-match up. Honestly, after the battle with Nero where he'd been allowed to use the access energy he's been holding for ages, it felt... oddly good to just let it all go, like this. He was quietly looking forward to his next match, even if part of him was sure it may be an uneven match, but.

Ah, the look on his face as he climbs to the top of that tower-like platform and he sees who his opponent is. He... has to laugh. A quiet, amused noise that causes his shoulders to shake. ]

Now then.
Isn't this just some sort of twist of fate, brother mine? [ ...he's already gripping his new katana--the last one having broken after how much he'd used it-- ] I believe the last time we fought it was a draw.

How long, I wonder, will it take to change that number.
In a place where you don't have to hold back?

iii. // This Is Also Power --: Closed to Dante and Gilgamesh

[ Hours. The answer is hours. At least two has passed since they'd begun--his stupid 'cottage core' outfit torn in many different places, dyed with blood from wounds that just won't linger. Dante's more goth outfit isn't any better, but.

This fight was getting nowhere. Turning into devils and back, trading blows both with sword and steel, teeth and claw--they stand opposed once again on either side of the arena.
Equally matched but also refusing to go down. There needed to be a ... tip of the scale. Something.
And then a look of Brilliance goes through Vergil's eyes, and he turns his head to the audience--to where he knows a certain 'Heroic Spirit' has been hiding. He raises his hand with that insect-like command seal on it. ...He doesn't dare use one of them, but. ]

--Archer. To my side. You are, by technicality, a power of mine. So let's put an end to this nonsense already.

iv. // The Show Must End --: Closed to Dante, Gilgamesh, Ei, and Zhongli

[ ...and yet, somehow, like Dante always manages to do, he's able to hold his own against both Vergil AND Gilgamesh. There's an unquiet in the crowd--from the fae who have been watching this one fight for what was. What. Five? Hours? By now?

To a point where there's another loud bellow on some horn. Vergil looks... confused, as that sound announces new players in the arena. ]

--We aren't finished yet. What IS this? [ he hisses, nearly annoyedly--but that's when he sees it. Two more people joining the ring, and the announcement from the fae: that to the fray enters two more players to try to end the longest game.

The look on Vergil's face when he realises what at least one of them is... ]

Truly, did you have to throw a god into the ring to wring out a winner? [ nevermind that one of the gods is his dad friend, but...

Up comes Vergil's broken katana--snapped off in the middle and yet, he's still using it just fine. ]

Come then. If I must beat you two and then Dante, so be it. [ ...nevermind that the fae had meant this to be a tag team battle. It had now turned into a ... battle royale, apparently... ]
