[ It takes Lapis a moment to adjust the video - seems like she's at the theatre - and the moment of adjusting is because one hand is cradling something that's... meowing? Or close to meowing. She's keeping a hold of it, since she's not letting the damn thing run off again. ]

So there's been these little cat creatures around just recently. Or I think they're cats. Or cakes, they look a little like mooncakes? - Anyway, they're all really cute but one in particular caught my eye, especially since they tried to steal my purse.

[ Actual loot goblin.

But she lifts the mnya-ing object; presenting the network with one cat-cake, staring right at them with a big ol' pair of starry blue eyes. Both the filling and it's little hat(???) are dark in colour, a black coat and a purple drippy pattern along it's hat... shell. Thing. Looking closely, it resembles one person in particular. ]

But this one actually resembles someone I know. [ She grabs one of its little paws - it even has little peets! - and has it wave to the camera, chuckling at the grumbled protests before letting the little creature settle on her lap. Though whatever she was about to say is momentarily forgotten as the creatures yawns and stretches, before bouncing back into shape.

...

She's just going to. Press her hands against its sides and squimsh, trying very hard not to smile when it wobbles and bounces again.

Why is it so cute. ]

Ah... It makes me a little curious if there's more cat... cake things, that look like people here.

[Blade looks like he hasn't slept in two weeks but never mind about that, he's squinting hard at the camera.]

[Kafka's on the other end of the line, holding a cat that looks suspiciously like Blade.]

I found this little guy hanging out at my apartment. He ate something that Bladie left behind, I think.

[She holds it to the camera and smiles.]

It might be? I'm not too sure myself, I just found it roaming around the backstage.

[ Just gonna grab the paws again and wave at Blade. ]

Okay Lapis can't help but giggle a little, her expression brightening as she looks at the Blade cat... and his dead eyes. Still adorable. ]

Oh, he's so cute! He looks just like Blade.

[ So it's something they ate? She wonders what the little one in her lap must've ate then, since she only saw it mid-thieving. ]

And it's nice to be able to meet Blade's mom too. [ Does she think Kafka is his actual mom? Nope, but she knows full well what found family is now. ]

[While not on video, Lapis is sent a picture of a cat cake with some familiar motifs.]

I'd found one near the Entertainment District I couldn't bring myself to ignore. Before I knew it I saw this little one as I was on my way to the Academy. It must have followed me somehow.

[He sounded absolutely delighted also maybe he shouldn't feed strays but it's fine don't tell Waver.]

[Zulius is so distressed. He hates this, he hates all of this.]

Oh my goose they are EVERYwhere. I just got my theatre back and now these flunking things are wobbling around everywhere!! It's an INFESTATION!!! They're the actual wor-

[ She gasps as she looks at that picture, her eyes lighting up. She may have also unintentionally squimshed the cat cake between her hands a little harder. ]

It looks just like you, that's adorable. Are you going to keep them?

[ POOR ZULIUS This is just the beginning, soon the theatre will be filled with their cat cake doubles. ]

They aren't that bad, are they... Sure this one tried to steal my stuff, but they're really cute.

There is a muffled meowing from the little guy on the other end that almost sounded remorseful.]

I found one that looks a little like me when I got in! [And he’s just gonna show up a little catke with golden fur, bright blue eyes, and a blue-and-white shell, doing its very best to climb onto the bar’s counter. It’s clearly determined to do a leap of faith.]

Think it might’ve gotten into my liquor.

[It's a nightmare. It's like his past life has come to haunt him except the cats are even weirder now. Somehow.]

Cute is a matter of opinion. They're weird looking and they're everywhere.

[Why does it always have to be cats? But hey, at least the Jinwoo lookalike is kinda fun.]

[ She peers at the cat-like pastry in her hands, still squishing it a little. Does that mean there's one that looks like her out there? It's a funny thought. ]

[Edward looks briefly pensive for a moment, looking back at the little catke about to do a leap of faith off the bar counter. Then he puts the camera down, walks towards the little thing, and holds his arms out.]

Try jumping toward me, yeah? [And the little guy immediately does so, launching himself at Edward with a shocking amount of grace, considering how much questionable alcohol it's consumed. He catches it with a soft oof.] Well, now. Can't leave you behind if you're a little me. [And maybe if he can look after this little thing he might be able to look after Jenny too, someday.

But that he doesn't say, going to pick up the phone once more.]

Well, now I'm tempted to feed one of these things something from Zulius's trash can, see what it turns into. Think it'll grow hooves?

[ Now she can only wonder about what his past world was like, to have little creatures like this. There's another squimsh of the cat cake before she frees it, mulling over his words for a moment. ]

[ The sole gear in her head is turning and is coming to a conclusion. ]

[ Cuteness aggression combined with an ingrained instinct to occasionally bully the boyfriend. Which the poor cat resembles, so they're now a target. ]

[ Though she can't help but giggle a little when she hears that meowing. They're so cute! ]

[ Weird looking... She looks at the creature in her lap again, thinking for a moment. Well. They are a little weird, with the shell and the wobbling. ]

Well, I'm sure they won't cause too much trouble...

[ She says, despite how the thing tried to steal her purse and Edward's may keep attempting to jump from high points.

But he also raises a good point. She lifts the critter to examine it closely, before shaking her head. ]

I texted him not that long ago, and he replied which I doubt he could do with paws like this. Also if this was him, it would be panicking a lot.

My reflexes were faster, however and it landed beside me instead. [Another oh so REGRET FILLED meow!! Oh woe is Diarcatke! Faced with not only failure but also knowing forever that it tried to pounce its dad!

At least Diarmuid tried to console it.]

[Blade falls silent for a long moment. During that long moment, the color rises to his face. He looks alive, and regretting it.]

[ Casually makes it a little bit worse first. But then she lifts the creature up once more, examining it closely. ]

Though I've never looked after a pet before either.

Maybe we do, Edward showed me one that looks like him and another friend said he found one too... So there could potentially be a little cake-cat you wandering around too, Zulius.

But hearing that meow makes her giggle again, another soft sound. ]

I don't think these are hard to take care of. A robot could do it.

Some of the things he's saying does make her wonder what he remembers, but she also knows remembering does more harm than good. But her expression does soften a little. ]

Between Bonnet, Conrad, a little yarn man, and now this fellow, I’m starting to think it’s a lucky thing Zulius gave me an entire house to live in. At this rate I’ll have a whole bloody menagerie.

A pause as she considers the one on camera.

She won't say who it is, the fun is in guessing, but she's obviously endeared by the little thief. She'll even have it wave its little paws at the camera again, chuckling a little at the 'nyaaaaaa-' in response.

"But I've seen a couple that resemble people I know, looks like they're mostly around the theatre."

"Maybe! Just something about that expression..."

Guessing is definitely more fun. As is joking around about a friend.

"I guess I'll have to start looking more closely, huh. I wonder where they came from, though..."

If it is so willing, I see no reason why I wouldn't. If it has any similarity to the one it seems to have taken after, the challenge certainly won't be denied.

[He is taking this maybe a little too seriously for a cat that looks like it was made in a jello mold.]

[ Poor Zulius... Does this mean the cat cakes will hate him too - ]

There is, I think he founds it at the bar. [ Which is not surprising honestly. ] But if we need a little pirate hat, I should be able to make one. I've gotten pretty good at making things lately.

[ She'll make so many little clothes for these cat pastries at this rate. ]

If it resembles you, I doubt it will be anything less than absolutely fabulous.

I'm starting to wonder if there will ever be a limit to the kinds of robots you can build...

[ But it's a relief to hear him say something like that.

And hearing his confidence in her does bolster her that little bit more. Enough so that her smile brightens a little. ]

At least it will never get boring! And having a house that big needs some company, I think.

She loves the man the cat resembles, which also means there's some gentle bullying. But her light tone makes it obvious she's joking, and she pats a hand against its little... hat? Thing? As she responds.

"They're popping up a lot around the theatre, I've noticed. I found this little one backstage, and a friend found one that looks like him at the bar."

"Right! Exactly!"

Ritsuka considers Jinwoo a friend, but she is the type to tease her friends at least a little. But it's clearly all in good fun.

"Really? Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for any I'd recognize..."

It’s a tad larger than the manor I had on Great Inagua, aye. [With significantly less skeletons hanging in closets.] If I keep picking up more animals I’m sure they’ll appreciate the space. Won’t ya, you little shanker?
