WHO: Jinwoo + some of his friends/coworkers
WHERE: Several Places in Kaisou
WHEN: the first two are backdated to november, the third is mid-december
WHAT: A well-needed talk, a sidequest, and a christmas gift gone wrong
WARNINGS: probably some heavy talk about past lives in the one with Lapis+Jusis
[ there's something uniquely uncomfortable about being here--doing this. Long time ago; he'd settled himself with the idea that the Black Order was his home; he had nowhere else because he didn't have anyone else. The contract he'd signed took away his family, his life--and he'd started to just let the idea that this was his life now sink into his bones.
It's amazing how those sorts of feelings can be shaken when you create new bonds with people; after convincing yourself that, much like your past life, you were always destined to Go Solo.
Which is why he'd asked for this meeting. Standing in front of Jusis' desk, part of him wanting to sink back and disappear into the shadows to avoid any sort of difficult talk.
He wasn't built for this. And yet. It was a conversation that needed to be done. ]
...Have you gone yourself, Jusis-nim? To the Library of Alexandria? [ he'll start here, he supposes. ] Reading a book on your own past life. ...I think it was a bad idea, but.
Lapis and I did it anyway. And we've started to ... suspect some things about our contracts with the order.
I suppose this whole thing...
I want to discuss our worries. Given the recent events, and the talks I've had with Zhongli-nim.
I think it's very dangerous for Lapis and I to continue our lives in the Order. In the future.
[ The most plant life he's ever taken care of in his life is his Bonsai tree. It was a quiet delicate thing--and he'd worried it would have died on his way over from florida, but it was flourishing.
But nearly not as much as all this mint was flourishing. Good fucking god. This is the third house they've been to, and the little tiny sprigs that have been very quietly poked into corners of several gardens on this street have already started to spread and grow into bigger, bushier little plants that were absolutely at risk of starting to spread into a full lawn.
Fortunately, the cold weather was making it so they weren't flourishing SO quickly. Thank god for that.
Equipped with a small spade, he's going to start to dig up the third plant since they started--waving lapis over to bring one of the little terracotta pots they'd brought to re-home the things. ]
If these had been planted during the summer...
I think they might be out of control by now.
[ it's odd, getting used to life in the city again after spending nearly two months out to sea, and it's especially rough when you've come home to. A goddamn mess of a city that was definitely not this Fucked Up when you left.
He knows part of the issue had been dropping that giant dragon they'd been aiming to go rescue in the middle of the city--but it wasn't the only part of the city that'd been messed the hell up.
Maybe that's part of why he'd asked Ritsuka to meet up--he wanted to ask one of his few friends outside of the order what happened, as well as deliver a gift to her--some chocolate he'd bought in Denmark, and a gift meant to be saved until Christmas.
Both items are carefully packed away in a little bag he carries, and he stands outside one of the few cafes that wasn't goddamned destroyed during the demon's rampage through the city, waiting for his red-headed friend to arrive.
...Little does he know that the gift he brought comes with another, less desirable gift. ]
