WHO: Astralin, Scramble, and you!
WHERE: Somewhere on the streets in Kaisou

WHAT: Astralin's introduction and chicken

[Should you be wandering the streets, there's a very tall, and large man calmly walking the streets with his hands in his pockets. The man seemingly talking to himself, until characters can spot a very large and fast chicken somewhat walking fast in front of him with a bell around it's neck, as well as a locket it's in mouth. From time to time, the chicken flutters it's wings before varying in speed.]

Do not be like that Scramble. I do not know where we are either, and it was very unnecessary to steal that locket of your parents. Please give that back; do not make me chase you. Or trap you in a cage of ice again.

[He speaks to Scramble in a soft tone, and keeps his footsteps gentle. The chicken seems to listen to his command and goes back to Astralin's feet. ... Until her usual behavior kicks in, and she's left walking fast again. The man once again going back to walking speed, as he allows his chicken to lead the way.]

[Peering down at Astralin and the chicken from where he's crouched on someone's clothesline, rather like a bird but human-sized and in blue:]

Now what's that chicken ever done to you, to need caging in ice?

Nothing, in fact. She has been saved many times from poachers, demons, and wolves because of that ice cage, have you not, my dear?

[He smiles fondly at Scramble, who seems to flutter it's wings in agreement. The chicken coming to a stop when it sees an unfamiliar face on top of the clothes line, which. Immediately makes it run back to Astralin.]

It is quite alright, Scramble. I am sure the man is not going to hurt you.

[ Seeing a very tall guy chase after a chicken is... strange, but not one of the strangest things Lapis has ever seen. It's why she only blinks over at them, before politely shifting to move out of the way when the chicken starts to waddle past. A glance at it tells her that it's very cute and also very big -

- Until there's a flutter of wings and now there's a. Chicken. On her head?? Lapis can only just stand there stunned as she tries to process what has just happened. ]

A useful ice cage, then.

[Edward hops down from the clothesline and onto a fire escape, with the grace of someone who’s done this many times before and could do it in his sleep.]

Aye, you’ve nothing to fear from me, Scramble. I don’t kill chickens. [He does kill humans though, not to mention all the other animals he’s hunted and harpooned.] Although I am curious, how did you and your chicken end up here?

-- Scramble!

[He stops dead in his tracks behind Lapis. Well aware that Scramble isn't as... Small as other chickens, and that immediately makes him reach for said chicken. His arms covered in feathers as she tries to get comfortable now that she's been grabbed. But none the less, the chicken manages to calm down, and he peers over at the younger girl with a look of concern.]

My apologies, young lady. Are you alright?

[Astralin does hold Scramble close for a moment to ease her nerves before letting go. It's apparent that he's quite good with animals, and for the most part, Scramble is well behaved for a normal chicken. Now standing in place with the locket still fast in it's mouth, as it flutters it's wings again as Edward speaks.]

I... Do not know. I found myself trapped in a labyrinth of ice before arriving here. I do not know where I am at, to be quite frank, and it does not look like a place where I have been.

[The most important thing to him too:]

But I must find a shop that sells chicken feed so that she does not go hungry.

[He's not sure whether that's better or worse than his own labyrinth: the Jackdaw, but turned into a maze, with trinkets of his lost loved ones scattered all around. But that question of location he can answer:] You're in Kaisou, mate. So far as I can tell it's in the American colonies.

[Yeah nobody's told him about the American Revolution yet.]

And I think I can find that for you. If, that is, you're willing to pay me. In information, if you don't have the coin.

[Iskandar had recently just made his way to Kaisou as well and had been exploring the various shop keeps throughout the bustling city when he stumbled across the rather peculiar spectacle. A rather tall man who rivalled his own stature in fact waltzed through the streets chasing after what appeared to be a chicken of all things! Canting his head to the side curiously as he scratches the side of his beard a bit confusedly at the affair he approaches with an optimistic smile as he aims to help the other apprehend the one called 'Scramble'.

Upon closer examination the king of conquerors notes the creature has something encased within its beak, vision narrowing in on the target as he moves to block the little one's path. Extending his arms out wide in an effort to stun and stop its evasion the large red head takes a defensive stance as he makes his presence known to the other.]

Cease your resistance small creature and return the item from which you have stolen, for I, Iskandar, King of Conquerors will aid this wayward soul in retrieving that which was lost!

Kaisou? American colonies...? I have never heard of such places before.

[He tilts his head in curiosity, having never heard of such places before. Still, he is grateful that he knows the name of the place now. For a moment, remaining quiet as he rummages through his mind to put two and two together. After all, this place didn't exist in his star, so as he in a completely different star, or world all together?

Great.]

I am not sure if my currency works here, and the only information I would have is from my own world, my good sir. But you have been kind in telling me where we are, so if you do have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

[You know. If he can.]

[Oh dear. Scramble notices the man almost immediately, and stops dead in her tracks. His sheer size is enough to make her frightened, and she flaps her wings as soon as she's cut off from running into the street. Astralin finally catching up to Scramble, and an apparent new guest that has stopped her dead in her tracks.

The locket drops from Scramble's mouth, and she immediately turns around to run into Astralin's arms. The man holding the chicken softly, despite the chase that Scramble put him through. His hand patting her head softly, before turning his gaze to the. Very large man in front of him now. A bit surprised that he's found someone in similar size, but he was much larger than him, for sure.]

Thank you for intercepting her, good sir. She is frightened, and cannot think straight... Although, I am not sure as to why she stole my locket.

[A pause.]

My apologies for the hassle; you do not see a locket anywhere do you?

You’re really not of this world, huh, mate?

[That’s fine, Edward’s not of this time either. He hums in answer, because coin would be nice but not if the currency’s unacceptable, and any information he could get from this man is really just going to satisfy his own burning curiosity.]

How about I find the store first, and then when I do I’ll ask my questions?

[ Why is there a chicken on her head, why is it so big, did he just call it Scramble -

Luckily Lapis is snapped out of bluescreening state once the chicken is removed, golden eyes blinking for a moment as she processes what just happened. Then that gaze turns up to Astralin, brows furrowed still. ]

I... Yes, I wasn't expecting that, but I'm fine. Is your chicken alright?

No... I am from a world called Arygian. Such places do not exist in our world, nor in our star.

[Just the name itself sounds like a fantasy name. Still, world hopping wasn't unusual in his world. Maybe they were on a different star, or galaxy -- who knows. It's not for him to really ponder right now, since he's much more worried about his chicken, rather than anything else.]

Very well. I do not see a problem with that. Although, if they do not accept my currency, I do not know how I will get the food.

[I mean, he isn't above stealing in a sense -- his husband does that for a living and all, but he isn't sure how well he can get away with a huge bag of food for a chicken.]

None the less, I appreciate you helping me, good sir. Your name?

Your star?

[That's different. Usually people just refer to their world, but this fellow mentions "our star" to boot. Which means he's from somewhere that's not quite so limited to one world.]

No need to fuss, mate, if they don't accept your currency I'll handle it.

[No, he won't steal a large bag of chicken feed for a stranger, but he'll buy him that chicken feed.]

Edward Kenway. Yours?

[The chicken seemingly drops the locket out of it's mouth now that Astralin has it in his grasp. A firm hold kept on her so that she doesn't walk out on the street, or anything like that. His eyes giving the chicken a once over, before turning his gaze to Lapis again.]

She is fine, just a bit worried that we are in a new place. She was not expecting to be brought to another world, you see.

[Scramble is surprisingly calm in Astralin's arms, but it's a bit hilarious to see how much he cares for the chicken.]

My apologies again, young lady. But do you know where we are?

Quite right. I am not a scholar of sorts, so any explanation of our star, and our singular planet that I exist on would be... Long.

[He holds Scramble just a bit closer, like one would a teddy bear. A bit... Anxious to go with this man, even though he doesn't seem hostile at all. In fact, he seems rather pleasant, and he swallows down his initial fear so that he can smile at least.]

How kind of you, good sir. I will remember your kindness, and ensure that I return it in full once I am situated.

[There's a pause, and that rising anxiety to introduce himself comes with it. But once again, he pushes past it.]

Astralin Turnont. A pleasure... To meet you, Edward. Now please, if you could show me the way, Scramble and I would greatly appreciate it.

I got time, and it'll be a bit of a walk to get there. Take however long you need.

[Edward descends from his perch on the fire escape, light on his feet as he hops off one ledge onto another lower down, then another, until he's on the ground.]

There's always the Zodiac apartments if you need help getting situated, but I don't trust them much. They are free, though.

[He says, having slept on a park bench before he found a Midtown apartment that wasn't sponsored by Zodiac.]

Aye, just follow my lead. If I'm remembering right, there's a Petsmart 'round this way.

[ it's very normal for people not to notice jinwoo when he's in a room, or out in the streets. some weird after-effect of his shadow powers, he simply doesn't have a presence that's easy to see--simple to track--sometimes people walk right past him when he's trying to talk to them.

It seems, in this moment, he's about to find out this also applies to chickens, as well.

As he's standing on the street, waiting to cross the road...

and a chicken
of all things
goes slamming into his legs, getting caught up in the long, ankle-long robes he's wearing.

And cue Jinwoo trying to keep the large umbrella he's holding over his head in his hands--while also trying to figure out why there's suddenly a chicken caught up in the skirt part of his robe.

Help. ]

[ Golden eyes blink when the locket is dropped, and she kneels down to pick it up; she'll be holding that out to the taller man, she figured this would be his. ]

That's good. I can imagine she would be pretty spooked.

[ And seeing such a stoic man fuss over a chicken is pretty funny, though considering how she usually looks she can't judge too much. So she simply peers up at him, canting her head at his question. ]

You're in Kaisou, a city in America on a planet called Earth... Do any of those words sound familiar?

[ He said "another world" but sometimes that can be an alternative version of Earth, so best to see how much he may or may not know. ]

Very well -- Come now, Scramble. Let us be off.

[Weirdly enough, despite her running off earlier, she seems to follow his command. Astralin no longer holding her, and allowing her to walk as he begins to walk behind Edward. Still a bit wary of the stranger, but that was to be expected. He isn't even sure if he could properly defend himself here, as he has yet to use his powers.

His attention shifts, though, and he nods. Silently keeping in mind that there are apartments here that he could stay at, and for free apparently. Which. Honestly makes him wary, but what other choice did he have? He needed Scramble to have a place to stay mainly.]

Thank you again.

[It was all unfamiliar to him, but he continues to walk until they reach their destination. His eyes staring up at the sign, and then inside, where he could see domesticated animals and food. ... Would be look weird coming in with a chicken?]

I do hope they do not mind if I bring a rather large chicken into the store. She is well mannered.

[Oh no. This isn't what he was expecting; she was usually so good in evading people. However, it seems that she's made... Contact with another human and he has to sprint toward the scene. Astralin quickly unraveling Scramble from Jinwoo's legs, and pulling Scramble back a bit to give him room to readjust himself. His eyes staring up at the younger man with concern.]

Mine apologizes, young one. Are you alright?

[... Scramble flutters it's wings, and just stays close to Astralin, now that she's in his grasp. A soft huff escaping from him once he stares down at Scramble, and shakes his head.]

I know you are scared, but you must not run off like that.

[He's grateful that she seems to have found his locket. After all, it was important to him, and he reaches out to the locket rather quickly and takes it from her hand. Astralin opening it up to ensure that there are no cracks on the glass, which, luckily, there doesn't seem to be any.

He snaps the locket shut, and places it in his pocket with a relieved sigh. Only to not be relieved when it seems that he has been brought to another world. The corner of his lips curved into a soft frown, as he shakes his head.]

Afraid not. Those places do not exist on my star, nor in the galaxy surrounding my star.
