Ha- don't worry. I'm not nearly as fight-happy as that family.

[he understands it's levity, and also he's very well aware of how that family can be. He's seen the fight club and the fights in the denny's parking lot.]

I know, eliminating Krusnik was part of your mission. It resulting in my situation improving was a bonus. But that's my own feeling on the matter. [There's no bitterness or any indication he takes that notion negatively. He knows very well what it's like to be mission oriented. And at the end of the day, regardless of the motives, Jun's life improved thanks to Zhongli's actions. He was grateful for that.

But then the question of price and owing comes up. He goes quiet for a moment, thinking. There's an impulse to insist that Zhongli owes him nothing, or that they'd be even from Krusnik, but ... something about that hits a bit wrong. ]

...Leaving the Order only to promise loyalty to me out of a sense of debt would only be exchanging one pair of shackles for another. Especially when I can't make the same pledge in return.

[He has no intentions of ever turning on Zhongli, but his body and soul is committed to another god. Unlikely as it may be, should there ever come a day where the two of them clashed... Jun knows which side he'd have to choose.

They needed a different way to resolve this. Jun makes a thoughtful sound as he thinks.]

In my past life, Seal Knights would take commission for any missions that fell outside their usual duties. It was a temporary contracts of sorts, where clients would pay for our services until the mission was complete.
