Sometimes the missions are as simple as 'find a guy who stole some cursed artifacts and steal them back', to--
'Someone took a bunch of slug-crocodiles from the Fth dimension and let the backyard breeding project out of control and now they're eating everyone who's in a fifty mile radius'.

Some jobs take a week to complete and are pretty easy to work around--others might have you away from home for two weeks.

I'd hate to get a pet and then leave it alone for a long time..."
