Ritsuka starts to reply, then suddenly pauses, apparently thinking of something as she peers at the talking bat.

"Let me guess... Usually you handle everything by yourself if you can, and can't stand feeling like you owe someone or are just a burden?"

She might have some familiarity with the type. She might have some shades of it, herself.

"Why not stick near the groups of everyone traveling on foot, and scout the areas nearby for them? I'm sure if you warned people about monsters or helped them find better paths they wouldn't mind letting you rest with them, at least."
