[Maybe it would have been advantageous had he taken Irisviel up on her offer. Waver went for him regardless. Waver kept the same catalyst all this time regardless and summoned him as a Saber. As the strongest Servant class.

He'd have been touched by the loyalty, still was, if his chest didn't continue to twist the more Waver spoke. He'd seen the epitome of what a mage ought to be in a coward like Kayneth Archibald. They were wretched things, Mages.

Waver was one one such man, he inherited the title but still handled things his own separate way. But if attributing this situation as his duty verses his will, he could in some twisted way understand. But it was wrong.

That alone, Waver taking up some facade to accomplish this impossible goal, felt like a small choice that would lead to an inevitable avalanche. A mistake in and of itself that made his expression turn sour.]
