Jun had stayed with Mikleo throughout the ordeal with Eizen, the scare with Velvet, and countless other times before that. So of course he would return the favor when Krusnik is hunting him. Of course Mikleo would refuse to leave Jun's side when they're partners. In many ways, he's the last line of security against someone getting the jump on Jun entirely, which is why he's stayed hidden until now. Not to mention, Mikleo appearing would instantly tip someone off that Shroud is Jun.

But he's stayed quiet too long. He just witnessed something terrible, and it makes his heart ache, and Waver's words just aren't enough. When Mikleo thinks about taking a life it makes his hands tremble because he thinks about how terrifying it was to watch the light go out in a hellion's eyes after Zaveid shot it, and how Sorey must have felt when he drove the sword into Heldalf's heart.
