"A lot of the places I've been have been pretty different from each other, but..."

She pauses for a moment, trying to think of how to put it.

"I guess in all of them, I always knew there was something behind all the problems, we just had to figure out how to find and take care of it. Sometimes it didn't take very long, other times it could be weeks, or even a month or two, but after that it was over."

At least until the next inevitable threat or nonsense cropped up.
