[ dante needed space; from vergil, from the guilt, from the memory of flames licking at his heels and the screams of a mother long since dead ─ a memory he all but forced back to the surface of his brother's head. it should say something that his first instinct is to seek out vash and, by extension, wolfwood. maybe it's because the former's place is so far from the city, too far for dante to be followed swiftly, maybe because no one he currently knows would expect him to head out there. maybe, just maybe, it's because dante just so happens to like them both enough to seek them out when something like this happens.
the why, in the end, doesn't particularly matter, what's important is that he needed space and they are the unfortunate recipients of his presence. unfortunate because dante's choice of arrival, specifically, involved the very same form that caused the problem in the first place.
