[There are several long tables pushed together to accommodate a small crowd, and all are draped in crimson and gold tablecloths. Two are set up with enough space for all the dishes people are bringing. It should be an impressive spread, if only because no one wants Velvet to eat them instead of the food... There are plates and silverware on the ends, and napkins. For drinks: there's a quick boil tea kettle and a more traditional one for people who insist on having their tea a certain way, some kind of fruit punch, water, generic brand soda, and whatever else people decide to contribute.

The other two tables are for people to sit at. Someone has taken the time to fold extra napkins in a stupidly fancy way and set them as decoration. As for chairs, there are twelve and then some, just in case someone wanted to bring a friend. Unfortunately, the Black Order can't count so who knows if that will even get noticed.

It's not high class, but with all the food spread out... it sure looks tasty.]

... Is it rare for everyone to gather like this? [ This is just genuine curiosity; she rarely works in teams, so she wants to try to get an idea of how things work. only to see that chaos reigns, thanks Velvet ]

There's no obligation, but he might be more willing to try something different if it were you who cooked for him. Perhaps he's taken a liking to you.

Rare? It's unheard of. There are a few people who live together, but it's because they are essentially junior members who need to be supervised. For the most part, I have known Guardians to mostly work alone. Even in Kaisou we tend to keep to ourselves.

As far as I know, this is the first time the Order has had a gathering like this in the few months we've been assigned here.

... A keen observation. Yes, I think the chances of everyone attending are greatly increased when food is on the table.

[He clears his throat and adds:]

Not everyone is a natural at the culinary arts. Such gatherings benefit them the most. It's not my business to pry, but I do have some concerns about how often some of them are able to eat a proper meal.

[Zhongli doesn't need to eat so obviously he doesn't count here (also he can cook a little), it's more about Ash and Ei...]

[ So, the majority of the Guardians are food motivated. This is Lapis' conclusion... Which also applies to herself, really.

But she nods along with his words; it's a valid concern, especially with some of the younger people here. And the person who brought in way too many McNuggets... ]

Mmm, there's not much you can really do about that... [ Unless they're Encouraged to take cooking classes. ]

Maybe this could be more of a regular thing? Not sure what sort of frequency would work best, but at least then it means some of the others can have actual food. [ Pause. ] And it's a good way of keeping in touch with each other too.
