Un: Zodiac | It's gonna be May

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Libra App
WHEN: May 1st
WHAT: Zodiac Network Post
WARNINGS: None!

[The Spirit Vein in the sky shifts from oranges to dark hues of purple and black as the element dominance shift into the Shadow element. With it, the night becomes almost unnaturally dark, even the city lights seem to struggle against the inky blackness of the night. Instead of the usual blaring sound, everyone's devices will emit a soothing wind chime sound as a new Zodiac post appears. The chime will sound even if you have your phone turned off or on silent, and will not stop until you read their message and comment to it.]

[The post then continues on as normal.]

Hello! Thank you for using the Libra App.

On behalf of the Zodiac Board, we'd like to issue an apology. We've become aware that for some time now, we've allowed our greed and own selfish desires to control our actions with the company and towards the people we work with. We could blame it on our board being cursed at the end of the year to turn into demons, but really all that did was intensify an already present problem. We should've been thinking about how we contribute to the people around us, not how to further line our pockets.

This will be a long road, but we wish to change Zodiac for the better. We wish to be seen as a group that you can work with, not one to be worked against. We want to make decisions that'd benefit not just the ones at the top, but the staff we employ and people such as you that we made a commitment to help. We'd like to improve our relations with the associates with the Black Order and POKEGO, both who have done a lot of great work since they arrived in our city this year.

We can't promise things will be perfect, and we can't promise you'll agree with every decision we make. We are still a company that needs to make some profits in order to keep our doors open and our employees paid. We don't expect you to trust or forgive us anytime soon, that's something we need to earn through our actions. But here's hoping that one day we can all work together towards a brighter future.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Zodiac Board of Directors

PS: We can't seem to remove the icebreaker question section from the code, so we're sorry about that. We'll have an expert look into it, but for now we tried to at least make it on topic.

This post is not sponsored.

[Users will have the option to choose their own display names and userpics if they haven't already. If nothing is chosen, the app will use their real name and a quick photo taken of them from their camera's phone. Rhel, Grusha and Will will be nowhere to be found while Eda, Morpheus, Aki, Hythlodaeus, and Crito will be around the city with no memories of the app.

Like always, there'll be no responses from Zodiac. ]

it was spring when i first left, and now it's winter

so a good number of months but at least i can actually say i'm 29 now rather than 'on technicality because i was here in october'

....damn that's a whole lotta time passed.

are you okay, though? like
i aint askin for you to spill everything that happened but like
you ok with being back here?

[ no unfinished business that youll be worried about, man ]
fionnuisce: (you play forgiveness)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-01 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
it's fine

now that i have no reason to believe anyone will even realize i'm gone, there's nothing to be concerned about

[ ...a little sad to think about, but... ]

it definitely puts some things in a neat little box
knowing that no matter how long you're here, you have time to deal with whatever you left behind, I guess.

I don't like the idea that we forget everything, though.
fionnuisce: (how should i begin)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-01 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
the injuries will heal, the scars will fade, and i'll have plenty of time to contend with how badly i've casually attempted to burn every bridge imaginable and wonder how to fix that.

needless to say, neither do i. if we're lucky and extremely cautious, maybe we'll manage to find a way to change that.

[... he has a weird urge to give you a hug right now, waver. lucky that he's not leaving his house for a week. ]

it'll probably have to be some sort of strong magic.
not exactly my best point, but. i suppose it's worth looking into with the folks who can weave spells and such.

[ maybe he'll talk to some people... ]
fionnuisce: (yet i know this light won't reach you)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-01 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
magic is my area of expertise, 'strong' magic is not. i remember discussing the damage to the veil between this world and the spirit realm before i left--it doesn't sound like something easily repaired, or any small undertaking whatsoever. but if we have much chance of altering the situation, it'll be in observing and finding a way to rectify that damage.

The world I come from, there does exist the technology to open holes in reality to travel between dimensions. I don't personally know the science behind it--magic might be a better word to use, now that I know it's real.

Creating a "gate" is a difficult enough undertaking in itself. The amount of energy to keep one open isn't something that even I can calculate, so I can't imagine what sort of work would have to be put into fixing the damage between two dimensions.

But if anyone can do it, it would be the pretty talented people from this world.
All I can say is that I'll be cheering them all on.
fionnuisce: (may we stay lost on our way home)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-03 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
travel between worlds isn't fully unheard of where i come from, but it's close enough to it. venturing beyond the material world isn't something even the average mage would or could ever be able to do, so i'm working off abstract theory that i barely comprehend

i can't do much, but i want to work towards fixing this mess

You think the people from this world might have a better understanding it? what with all those stable gates and tears in time opening up...

ive thought about starting to look into any research that might be available for that sort of thing, but.
....the computers you have in this world are insanely primitive compared to the ones
I grew up with, I have a lot of difficulty understanding how they work.
you don't even have hard-light based screens here, it's all. actual material.

fionnuisce: (and lead me straight to your heart)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-05 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
A better understanding on top of the concept being applied in a completely different way, yeah.

Primitive, seriously? Is technology that far ahead where you came from?
doubledollar: <user name=SEKUHARA> (221)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-05 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
I hate to sound like that guy, but. Yeah, primitive.

I know my arm got busted and I'm not sure if you saw it beforehand, but i actually have it hard-wired into my nerves so it works like an actual arm.

and not to mention your computers, they run using super old coding, the processing speed is way slower than what I'm used to. you can't even project things from them to look at them at a larger scale? like
i dunno how to explain it but
er

...well
i was born in space?
in a space ship looking for a new planet to live on?
....i think the year was ...3121? Compared to 2023 that it is here. big jump☆.

Fucking hell, talk about time displacement. Suddenly twenty years doesn't seem that bad. I'm a little surprised you haven't gone crazy over it.
doubledollar: (54)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-05 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well.
I guess that's mainly because while I was born in space and grew up learning how to use super high tech computers and stuff.

When I was... how old?

[ ...he was only a year old when they crashed, but. Plant aging is different. What made sense...? ]

Ten? At the time? Our space fleet crashed down onto a resource-starved planet that's all desert.
I grew up to the age I am now without things like flora and animals, or big beautiful cities like this.
Towns popped up all over my planet out of the crashed space ships, so...

This world is so beautiful.
I kind of forget the lack of technology due to being distracted by .... nature.

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-05 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't even imagine how difficult living in a place like that must be. This really is a complete paradigm shift for you, isn't it?
doubledollar: (164)

[personal profile] doubledollar 2023-05-06 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
...Is it shameful to say.
That now that you've told me time doesn't pass back home

that I'd be happy to live here for a few decades
fionnuisce: (crowds of monochrome)

[personal profile] fionnuisce 2023-05-06 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think there's anything shameful to that, no.

It is a nice city, isn't it? Despite everything that keeps happening.
