[ He sinks lower in the water, a bit melodramatic as he sprawls out, as if deflating. ]
Mahhhhhh, Lucaaa... Let's just— stay down here. Til tonight. Maybe they won't even notice we're gone so escaping will be even easier!
[ Wishful thinking. There were several Fae who took notice of their ruckus with the geese. One of them being the closest friend of Alberto's old buddy Paddy, who's aware they're not all seeing eye-to-eye here. Alberto's felt Paddy's been rather less buddy-ish this time around in the couple occasions in passing they've had to reconnect, with all the hustle and bustle around the park, Paddy being just as energetic and proactive as Alberto in his own fey ways. It's been a noticeably different attitude he's treated Alberto with, though, Alberto feels; he was expecting buddy-buddy catch-up-times and that's not what's happened... and then some. Paddy's still very much kept his eye on him from afar, popping by to say hi every now and again (in fact, Paddy and his friend had volunteered to be the ones to kidnap the boys in their sleep!), but it's been to a much less warm and fuzzy end than last time. He hasn't even had the chance to come meet Luca properly all this time, just waved at him a couple times in passing earlier this week, and Paddy's been so wanting to introduce Alberto to his best friend... But with each new day, Alberto's rowdy behavior is putting a strain on things.
Paddy's worried about Alberto breaking rules and messing up, running amok acting like a silly goose himself; but most important, he's concerned about Alberto not being appreciative of their intentions to adopt them into the Fae life this time around — and also, affectionately protective of him or not, Paddy's frankly growing annoyed by this, himself. Their dynamic in the castle was during peacetimes (more or less) and Paddy took Alberto under his wing about cooking — that's nothing major; now he meant to take these boys in much more intimately, y'know, with the kidnapping and all, and it is not going well... Paddy's own best friend knows Paddy's feelings on the matter, so when he hears some other Fae whispering about the boys after they fled from the geese, he finds it prudent to let Paddy know what's up with his troublesome little buddy now. The pair ask around the other Fae folk throughout the evening if anyone'd seen the boys come out of the water, still oh so generously taking time away from their other duties to keep tabs on them; but no one's seen anything. Which is just more to their growing annoyance, as they're now going out of their way to "look after" them, as they see it. Finally, the night winds down and many folk start going to sleep, humans, Fae, and others alike, and the park grows quieter the later it gets. This is when the boys can finally make a run for it.
And this is when Paddy and his friend kinda figure they might be trying to make a run for it... They're not dumb — unfortunately. They both volunteered to be on night patrol tonight just so they could stake out the lake, their attention less divided now, and in a way, there is an element of genuine worry at play here...? But they are both by now rather irritated that they've wasted so much time waiting on the boys to finally emerge so late at night. When Alberto and Luca resurface, the coast seems clear at first, and Alberto whispers to Luca, nudging him with his elbow... ]
See? Told you. No one even noticed we were gone.
[ But right on cue, once the boys come ashore at last, Paddy leaps down from his unseen perch on the same tree Luca had suggested Alberto climb up earlier. He lands gracefully, his body language cool and collected, crossing his ankles gingerly with his hands on his hips, insect-like wings fluttering slightly behind him, but there's certainly something chilling in the air as he stares them down. He forces a smile, his tone a bit strained for the love of good manners, trying to sound... friendly? Is that what he's going for? It's not totally working... ]
Aye, there ye are! Been lookin' all over fer ya, Alburto!
hope this works!
