[ ah, an expert in brewing whine, no wonder he recognised it.
vash does look pleased when Diluc doesn't outright shut him down, though, pushing his sunglasses up on his nose with a pleased hum, as he and the small group of others--mostly ordinary people who got lost in the park--follow behind the fire-toting man with hopes of just. getting the hell out of here was the goal.
which, that goal most definitely is getting interrupted as Diluc, too, gets that same downswing feeling in his guts. Maybe, if the light was brighter, Vash might have picked up quicker on the fact that Diluc had noticed too.
Maybe that's why his usually fantastic reaction time feels sluggish when theres a direful scream--a nearly human-sounding bellow from under the water as something breaks the surface.
Vash's eyes are on it, and while the only power he's kept since arrival makes the creature throwing itself up onto the shoreline seem to move like its in slow motion. The fact that he can't clearly see the beast, makes him freeze up a bit. probably not the coolest response when the bog-reed covered horse-creature with its giant, glowing red eyes is making a beeline toward one of the civillians who was a bit too close to the shoreline.
Vash's hand grabs at his gun, yanking it free of the holster on his leg as he tries to aim in the dark at the thing.]
