Luckily though, neither was Luz. She intentionally was riding just slow enough to get them after her, because she wanted them to get hit with the glyph traps she's already laid out. That was why Danny tapping them was necessary: while she was on the staff, she couldn't cast them, so the glyph had to be activated.
Luz zigzagged through some shots aimed at them, and they approached the first tree, which Luz had saddled with ice glyphs.
